REGISTRATION FOR NATIONAL MANUFACTURING WEEK 2019 NOW LIVE!

After a successful event in 2017 with over 10,000 attendees, National Manufacturing Week returns to inspire continued industry momentum while celebrating its 20th anniversary on 14-17 May 2019 in Melbourne.

Registration is now open for the 20th edition of National Manufacturing Week, Australia’s largest manufacturing exhibition & conference, which will be held at Melbourne’s Convention & Exhibition Centre from 14-17 May.

As the focal point for the manufacturing community to interact, connect, be inspired and celebrate successes, ‘Industrial Evolution’ will be the primary focus and theme across the conference program and exhibition’s four days.

Strategic partners and industry associations supporting National Manufacturing Week 2019 include the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre (AMGC), Innovative Manufacturing CRC (IMCRC), Engineers Australia and Weld Australia. With these partners’ presence strengthening National Manufacturing Week’s industry relevance and further cementing the event’s status as the epicenter for the manufacturing community to come together and connect.

National Manufacturing Week will also again be co-located with Austech, the only metalworking, machine tools and ancillary market focused event in Australia.

INDUSTRY INSIGHTS & KNOWLEDGE SHARING

The 2019 conference program for National Manufacturing Week, developed through a collaboration between National Manufacturing Week, Austech and the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre, will feature an impressive line-up of more than 70 expert speakers, who will share exclusive insights into the latest manufacturing developments across two theatres and conference streams.

Industry 4.0 Theatre

The Industry 4.0 Theatre conference program will offer attendees the latest insights, developments and research about the impact of Industry 4.0 on businesses and operations.

This stream of the conference program will kick off on the first day with a keynote delivered by Australia’s Chief Scientist Dr Alan Finkel, with an innovation and collaboration stories series run by the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre and a panel discussion run by Peter Roberts, who is a leading journalist, editor and the founder of the 4,200-member Australian Manufacturing Forum.

On Day 2, the Australian Manufacturing Forum will run a second panel discussing the benefits of onshoring, followed by presentations on driving innovation through advanced materials and case study examples of how adopting smart technologies in factories has been successful.

Day 3 and 4 will cover various topics such as artificial intelligence in advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0 digital shipbuilding in global supply chain, outlook of the defense market, and the evolution of robotic manufacturing in Australia.

Speakers to feature for the Industry 4.0 sessions include: Dr Nico Adams (Director of Factory of the Future, Swinburne University), Dr Elliot Duff (Principal Research Consultant, CSIRO Data61), David Chuter, (CEO, Innovative Manufacturing CRC), Christopher Vains (Head of Digital Enterprise, Siemens) and Dr Jens Goennemann (Managing Director, Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre).

Connected Manufacturing Theatre

The Connected Manufacturing Theatre program targeted at business owners, managers, WHS professionals and designers, will offer attendees expert advice on business management, design and industrial safety.

Industry challenges and topics to be covered in sessions include: environment and energy policies, process improvement & optimisation, safety innovation, safety policies, safety management and culture, mental health & well-being, marketing and sales, additive manufacturing and design, and government grants and tariffs.

Speakers to feature in the Connected Manufacturing sessions include: Peter Ticker (Digital Innovation and Advisory Lead Energy Solutions, ERM Power), Philip Smith (Director Business Development Victoria & Tasmania, Efic) , Brooke Donnelly (CEO, Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation), Toni Kennington (HR Systems Owner, Fonterra Cooperative Group), Dr. Arash Niavarani (Director, CBIS), Alex Kingsbury (Managing Director, Additive Economics) and James Woolcock (Founder & Engineering Director, Bastion Cycles), Gareth Berry (CEO, Unleashed Software) and Kate Whitehead (Managing Director, Avant Group).

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EXHIBITION FLOOR

National Manufacturing Week 2019 will feature over 200 leading industrial suppliers of gamechanging solutions, new technology, advanced manufacturing products and operational services.

Exhibiting suppliers at this year’s event, include: Lincoln Electric, WAGO, 3M Australia, Central Innovation, Universal Robots, Profifeed Technologies and Kobot Systems. A wide array of specialised first-time exhibitors are also joining this year’s event, such as Partable XRF, ASG Group, Lorch South Pacific, Pilz Safe Automation, Plazmax and High Tech Products.

Visitors will be able to take advantage of six designated product zones to navigate through the exhibition floor and see the extensive range of products and solutions designed to improve operations, resolve challenges, improve quality and increase productivity.

These six product zones include: Automation & Robotics, Engineering, Industrial Internet of Things, Safety, Welding Technology and Manufacturing Solutions.
