NMW 2016 : SOON TO OPEN ITS DOORS

In  less than three weeks, National Manufacturing Week (NMW) will open its doors at  Sydney Showground - Sydney Olympic Park.  NMW will feature hundreds of new and innovative technologies from around the world, as well as industry leaders  discussing new ideas and opportunities that could spark   change in the way you conduct your business.

Running from May 11 - 13, NMW is the one event that brings manufacturers together to see, hear and discuss new technologies and opportunities - all under the one roof. Reflecting changing industry priorities, NMW 2016 will present a new layout that reflects the the drivers of industry innovation, as well as dynamic demonstrations, a wealth of expertise in the NMW Seminar Theatre Program and most of all, a forum for industry to come together to network and share ideas.

NMW 2016's layout includes 12 Product Zones, including industry game-changers in Additive Manufacturing, Digital Manufacturing and Advanced Materials laid out alongside advances in core Electronics, Engineering, Intralogistics and other vital aspects of manufacturing.

Throughout NMW 2016, new technologies will be brought to life via dynamic demonstrations focusing on how various solutions can help your business grow.  The demonstration schedule includes of Konica Minolta's 3D Printing solutions, Impact Robotics' newly-launched and impressive Sawyer collaborative robot and Cryonomic dry ice blasting, advances in riveting, welding and much, much more.

"One of the real advantages of being at NMW," comments Richard Denmead, Director of Cryonomic, "is that you get to see new and innovative technologies in action."

Richard comments, "Being able to see and touch the machines really does give you an insight into how they might help your business. Beyond that, NMW is such a large melting point that you just never know who you're going to bump into - which is why it's so important to be there."

Another great strength of NMW is its Seminar Theatre program, which will begin with CSIRO's Dr Keith McLean flagging opportunities to partner with CSIRO to develop new products, processes and materials. In separate Seminar Theatre topics, design leaders from Western Sydney University and the University of Technology Sydney and more will share new ideas for using design innovation to drive competitive advantage.

Additionally, industry superstars such as Anthony Kittel of Redarc as well as Alex Lester of Nautitech and Ron Barrington of Cullen Steel will share real-world stories of innovation and invention that have helped them succeed in fiercely competitive markets. There will also be briefings on emerging technologies - including Lean management, supply chain efficiencies and more in a wide-ranging program available at nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au.

To further bring the industry together, NMW will focus on a number of free,  networking opportunities for visitors to meet with colleagues including  the NSW Dept of Industry's special Networking Function on Wednesday May 11.

NMW is held in Sydney once every two years, and this year's event takes place alongside Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo, the Sydney edition of the world's largest 3D printing event, as well as the Safety First Conference & Expo, Australia's only one-stop workplace safety event.
